According to official information from the territorial state statistics service, the lowest prices for a number of products in the Volga Federal District are found in the Penza Oblast.
Consumer prices for vegetables in the region are minimal. According to statistics, the Penza Oblast offers the cheapest potatoes, fresh white cabbage, onions and carrots in the VFD. The cost of 1 kg of potatoes was 15.34 rubles, 1 kg of cabbage - 15.91 rubles, 1 kg of onions - 24.28 rubles and 1 kg of carrots - 22.15 rubles.
It is also noted that among other regions of the district the Penza Oblast has the cheapest bread and bakery products made of wheat flour of the first and second grades, with a price of 41.05 rubles for 1 kg. There are also the lowest prices for table salt (the cost of 1 kg is 9.54 rubles), sterilised whole milk with fat content of 2.5%-3.2% (62.17 rubles for 1 liter), frozen undivided fish (130.73 rubles for a kilo).
According to statistical monitoring data, the maximum prices for food products are not recorded in the region.
