According to the results of work in January-April 2020, the industrial production index in the region amounted to 102.6% (in manufacturing – 103.6%), the Penza Oblast being on the 3rd place among the Volga Federal District (VFD) regions, while the growth rate was higher than in the whole Russian Federation (99.4%).
Despite the high alert period in the region, the growth of industrial production is observed in the following economic activities: production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers - 131.2%; production of other finished goods - 118.0%; production of machinery and equipment not included in other groupings - 114.3%; production of paper and paper products - 113.9%, etc.
