According to official data of the consumer price monitoring in the Penza Oblast, prices for a number of products were the lowest among the Volga Federal District administrative units.
In the Penza Oblast, the lowest consumer prices in the District were rgistered for undivided frozen fish (the cost of 1 kg was 133.18 rubles) and for sterilised whole milk with 2.5% - 3.2% fat content (the price for 1 litre was 62.45 rubles).
Sugar in the Penza Oblast is the cheapest (30.8 rubles for a kilo) in comparison with that in other VFD administrative units. The region also has the lowest consumer prices for bread and vegetables:
the cost of 1 kg of fresh cabbage was 18.92 rubles, that of onions - 36.52 rubles, and 1 kg of carrots - 28.01 rubles. The cost of 1 kg of bread and bakery products made of wheat flour of the first and second grades was 41.78 rubles.
According to official data of price monitoring, maximum consumer prices are not registered in the Penza Oblast.
