The Russian Federation Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology marked the Penza Oblast among the leading regions where forest fires are extinguished in the first day.
This year the region's forest reserves suffered 39 forest fires, all of which were eliminated on the day of the combustion occurence, so that large forest fires could not develop. This was made possible thanks to the high-quality and timely response of forest fire services to combustion occurence, as well as to ensuring fire protection on the territory of the region's forest reserve.
In many ways forestry specialists can rely on the help of new machines and modern equipment purchased within the framework of the "Forest Conservation" federal project, which is a part of the "Ecology" national project.
In 2020 the Penza Oblast Ministry of Forestry, Hunting and Nature Management purchased 4 forest fire complexes, a bolster-body truck, 4 ATVs, almost three dozen SUVs, fire cisterns, chainsaws and other special equipment for the amount of more than 50 million rubles.
