During his visit to "Katkovka Village Hatchery", the Penzamolinvest separate structural division, in Kolyshley district on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, Ivan Belozertsev stressed the importance of creating new jobs for the village residents.

Damate Group, the largest turkey meat producer in Russia, has completed the hatchery modernisation in the Kolyshley district, which began in September 2019. The facility has been put into operation.

As a result of the reconstruction, the production capacity of the incubator was increased by 3.8 times – from 1.8 to 7 million eggs per year, with the possibility of further expansion to 14 million. As part of the project, the equipment has been completely updated and the hatchery area has been significantly increased.

All processes are automated as much as possible, and human participation is minimised for biosecurity purposes. Thanks to the modernisation, 30 new jobs were created.

The first laying of hatching eggs in the updated incubator has already taken place. The reference breed eggs supplier was the Aviagen company, located in the Nikolsky district, Penza Oblast. The first batch of turkeys has already been bred in the new incubator.

After getting acquainted with the work of the agro-industrial facility, the Governor highly appreciated the work on increasing production capacity, at the same time recalling the support of agro-industrial investment projects implemented in the Penza Oblast by the President of Russia and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation in terms of decisions on subsidising the interest rate of large investment loans.

"Damate Group is a leader not only in Russia, but also one of the three best companies in Europe for the turkey meat production. This year, the Penza Oblast will open the largest plant in Russia and Europe for thorough turkey meat processing," Ivan Belozertsev informed.

"The site where we are at the moment is excellent, jobs have been created – this is a solution to an important task for the Kolyshley district - the employment of people," he stressed.

Investments in the reconstruction of the facility amounted to 504 million rubles.
