The Penza Oblast Governor instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and heads of district administrations to study the experience of the region's existing farms and adopt other regions' techniques.
"For example: our countryman started producing maple syrup in the Bekovsky district three years ago. Today it is the only such enterprise in Russia. Now there has been created a cooperative society for growing raspberries. They have increased the area from three to 17 hectares, and another eight hectares are being planned. They see their horizons and have already started to produce raspberry syrup. There is a similar case in the Maloserdobinsky district: a husband and wife came from Sochi, founded a farm and now grow strawberries," the head of the region specified.
Ivan Belozertsev stressed that the authorities should facilitate the creation of such farms, as well as search for potential farmers among the population and help them become successful.
