In 2021, as part of the "Safe and High-quality Roads" national project, it is planned to repair more than 80 km of regional and local roads in the Penza Oblast.
Although there is still snow in the region, and night temperature drops to –10 degrees, the beginning of the road repairing season is to begin soon. Penza road organisations have started testing road surface materials in a specialised laboratory. The organisations that will repair roads under the "Safe and High-quality Roads" national project were the first to do it.
"The primary stage of control of the material used, such as crushed stone, bitumen, asphalt mix, is very important. It allows us to determine the materials quality indicators at the stage of preparation for the road repairing season," said Aleksey Vedeneyev, head of the road laboratory.
Contracts for carrying out road works on all roads of the main list are concluded. This means that when the temperature rises above zero, contractors will begin to repair roads of regional and local significance in the Penza Oblast.
