The award ceremony for the heads of the Penza Oblast exporting companies was held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
The region's foreign trade turnover over the past year amounted to 704,968.6 thousand US dollars, with an increase by 144,523.9 thousand US dollars (+25.8%) compared to 2019. At the same time, exports increased by 95,488.1 thousand US dollars (+31.0%) and amounted to 403,483.3 thousand US dollars.
498 Penza enterprises carried out export supplies in 2020. It is 28 companies more than in 2019. The Penza Oblast's trade partners are 95 countries.
Addressing the winners of the annual competition, Nikolay Simonov, Acting Chairman of the Penza Oblast Government, noted the great potential in the production of competitive goods for the region's manufacturing industry and agriculture.
"Our today's trend is as follows: we are starting to produce and export more than buy and consume. This trend has developed over the past two or three years," Nikolay Simonov stated.
"Some other thing worth mentioning is that our agrictulture has undergone almost a revolution – the statistics is a clear evidence of it. Earlier our export was dominated by industrial goods, but now industrial goods occupy 43% of exports, and agricultural products - more than 30% already," - said Nikolay Simonov.
More than 30 enterprises took part in the "The Best Exporter of the Penza Oblast" competition making a significant contribution to strengthening the Penza Oblast's export potential. Winners and prize-winners were determined in six categories, and the results of the activities for the year 2020 were evaluated. The winners of the contest were awarded at a solemn ceremony.
