According to the results of work for January - May 2021, the industrial production index in the region amounted to 117.9%, providing the Penza Oblast with the 1st place among the Volga Federal District regions (the 2nd place is the Saratov Oblast (117.0%), the 3rd place is the Ulyanovsk Oblast (116.9%)), while the growth rate was higher than the average one in the Russian Federation (103.2%).
The volume of products shipped by industrial enterprises amounted to 123 billion rubles, or 133.1% compared to the corresponding period last year, including in manufacturing industries - 108.7 billion rubles, or 137.1%.
The growth of industrial production was ensured in the following types of economic activity: production of rubber and plastic goods (3.4 times); production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (162.5%); production of chemicals and chemical products (146.7%); production of computers, electronic and optical goods (142.0%); production of furniture (140.9%); production of medicines and medical materials (125.4%); production of other non-metallic mineral goods (123.9%); production of paper and paper goods (126.2%).
