The official ceremony took place at the Rameyev high-tech technopark on Thursday, April 7, 2022.
During the thematic exhibition of import substitution products organised as part of the interregional conference, almost 40 Penza enterprises presented samples of their goods. They showed the possibilities of their own production facilities for the manufacturing of popular types of equipment, technical products, spare parts and components. The participants of the exposition informed Oleg Melnichenko about the potential of their enterprises and the availability of products capable of replacing supplies from countries unfriendly to Russia, as well as about the possibilities of increasing the volume of exports.
Addressing manufacturers during the official opening ceremony, the Governor stressed the key importance of the possibility to exchange information and available developments in the face of unprecedented sanctions pressure that the domestic economy is experiencing today.
"We should be able to gather together and exchange experience, so that to see how we can help each other to substitute imported goods," Oleg Melnichenko explained.
"Just a week ago, the Penza Oblast delegation was in the Republic of Belarus, where we visited a number of key industries, met with President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Roman Golovchenko, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, and worked out common approaches. Both the enterprises of the Penza Oblast and those of the Republic of Belarus have many interesting projects, so we need to establish close cooperation ties, especially since we can implement import substitution for a number of products," the Governor emphasised.
He called the products presented at the exhibition an excellent demonstration of our region's industrial capabilities.
"We should always remember that the Penza Oblast is an industrial region with a great production potential. And we are ready to share our developments in a number of areas with our partners in the Republic of Belarus, as well as in the regions of our large country, the Russian Federation," Oleg Melnichenko stated.
"I welcome everyone to the Penza forum, I think that its result will be, first of all, the deepening of cooperative ties between our industrial enterprises," the governor expressed confidence.
