The Russian Export Center summed up the interim results of the Regional Export Standard 2.0 in the Russian regions for 9 months of 2022.
Penza Oblast entered the top 3 in the Volga Federal District, taking second place. In Russia, the Oblast ranks 21st among 75 regions participating in the program.
The regional export standard in the Penza Oblast has been implemented since 2021.
The project includes a wide range of activities like business training in export activities, development of a regional export development program (a comprehensive plan of measures for export development), and mechanisms for supporting and promoting the products of regional companies abroad.
In January-September 2022, with the assistance of the regional export support center, the cluster development Center and the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the Penza Oblast, participation in 6 business missions and 25 international exhibitions was organized for exporters.
"Taking into account the current international situation, we are working to strengthen and expand cooperation with friendly countries. This year we organized a visit of heads of trade missions to our region, held online meetings of the business community with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, India, Mongolia, and the UAE," commented Almaz Khakimov, Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Penza Oblast, adding that such events are very useful, and they are in demand among entrepreneurs.
The main purpose of the Regional Export Standard is to create a comprehensive system of support for non–primary non-energy exports in the regions. Its implementation is one of the indicators of the national project "International Cooperation and Export".
