85% of Penza Roads to Be Updated in Next Five Years

This was stated by Governor Oleg Melnichenko, commenting on the topic discussed at a meeting of the government commission for regional Development on Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin reported on the task set to the Government of the Russian Federation of stable financial support of state programs.  He stressed the importance of further development of the construction industry and, in particular, the continuation of intensive work on the reconstruction of motor transport facilities.
Oleg Melnichenko said that by the end of 2027, it is planned to modernize at least 85% of regional and intermunicipal highways.
"First of all, in rural areas we repair roads that are important for residents and for the development of production," Oleg Melnichenko explained.
"As part of the federal project "Regional and local road network" this year we will modernize more than 82 km of highways," he added.
38 facilities planned for repair and construction are located in Penza, among them is a transport interchange near the Brigadirsky Bridge. Ten other bridges are also planned to be repaired this year.
