Oleg Melnichenko and Oleg Malginov discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation between the Penza Oblast and the Republic of Uzbekistan on Monday, April 24, 2023.
The Governor thanked the Ambassador for his assistance in organizing the visit of the Penza delegation. He noted that over the past five years, cooperation between the Penza Oblast and the Republic of Uzbekistan has significantly intensified in many areas.
Our region was visited by official delegations of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kazan, Andijan and Tashkent regions. Business missions Uzbek companies to the Penza region were held. Representatives of our region also made official visits and business missions to Uzbekistan.
"I am sure that the established contacts will have a positive impact on the development of our relations. We are interested in increasing foreign trade turnover with the Republic of Uzbekistan," Oleg Melnichenko stressed.
"Our industrial enterprises are eager to work with Uzbekistan," he added.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan noted that the Penza Oblast specializes in the high-tech production.
"Such equipment may be in demand in Uzbekistan," Oleg Malginov stated.
The Penza Oblast also offers to hold a trade and procurement session with representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan and chain stores operating in the Penza region.
"Uzbek producers will be able to enter our networks and offer their products to Penza residents. During the Soviet years, a company store "Uzbekistan" operated in Penza, and it was very popular with residents and guests of our city. I am sure that the resumption of its work will arouse interest among residents of the Penza Oblast," Oleg Melnichenko said.
