The meeting between Oleg Melnichenko and Aleksandr Komarov took place during the visit of the Penza delegation to Astana.
"Kazakhstan plays an important role for our country in the current economic conditions, and the Penza Oblast takes an active part in establishing cooperation," Aleksandr Komarov stressed. – We are establishing contacts at the highest level. Our common task is to promote positive conditions of Russian–Kazakh relations, expand existing ones and establish new areas of joint work."
Oleg Melnichenko stated that the Penza Oblast has been cooperating with Kazakhstan for more than 10 years. Agreements on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation of the government with the Akimat of Astana, the West Kazakhstan and South Kazakhstan regions were signed.
The governor named the agro-industrial complex as one of the key areas of cooperation.
Damate Group (meat and meat offal), Vlast Truda Plant (plywood), Biosintez (medical products), Mayak Kants (stationery), Penzadizelmash (generators and turbochargers), Radiozavod (controllers and measuring complexes), and Stankomashstroy (machines) send their products to Kazakhstan.
"It is planned to increase the volume of sales of spare parts for diesel locomotives produced by the Penzadizelmash plant, modern household appliances of the SVAR company, cabinet furniture produced by SV-mebel. Our partners are very interested in equipment for the production, repair and testing of pipeline fittings," Oleg Melnichenko explained.
"We expect a lot from the visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, a number of meetings and events are planned to establish further relations," the governor summed up.
Reference: In 2022, out of the total volume of exports, the volume of supplies from the Penza Oblast to the Republic of Kazakhstan exceeded 22 percent. The trade turnover of the region with the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to more than 5 billion rubles, including exports for 4.6 billion rubles. For 4 months of 2023, the trade turnover exceeded 1.5 billion rubles, including exports for 1.2 billion rubles.
