Oleg Melnichenko presented the potential of the region at the plenary session of the anniversary Forum of twin cities "25th anniversary of Astana. New perspectives. New opportunities".
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as well as about 1300 representatives of delegations from 13 countries of the world.
The President of Kazakhstan stressed that Astana is the largest financial center of the regions of the Republic.
"World politicians call Astana a platform of peace, here they establish a dialogue and find ways to mutual understanding between countries with very different positions and interests," Kassym–Jomart Tokayev stated.
Mayor of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek stressed that the capital of the Republic is open to creating comfortable business conditions.
Oleg Melnichenko confirmed the readiness of the Penza Oblast to expand cooperation with the regions of Kazakhstan. Among the key areas is the work of the agro-industrial complex.
"A characteristic feature of exports to Kazakhstan is the growing volumes of food products, in particular, grain products, confectionery and meat," the head of the region noted. – Damate Group, one of the five largest turkey meat producers in the world, remains the leader here. In the first half of this year, the volume of deliveries of Penza-made turkey to Kazakhstan increased by 47 percent compared to the same period last year."
Enterprises of the Penza Oblast actively participate in international specialized exhibitions held in Astana. Penza industrialists are scheduled to work at the Kazakhstan International Exhibition of Mining Equipment, Production and Processing of Ores and Minerals in September.
It is also planned to develop cooperation between Penza State University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kostanay Regional University and Gumilev Eurasian National University. Now 22 students and postgraduates from the Republic are studying in Penza universities.
"I am sure that the cooperation of creative youth will be the key to the future stable, productive and mutually beneficial development of relations between the regions of Kazakhstan and the Penza Oblast" Oleg Melnichenko summed up.
