According to the territorial statistics service for the Penza Oblast, there is an increase in the production of livestock in the region.
During the period of January-July 2023, all farms produced 273.7 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight, which is 7.3% more than in the same period of 2022. Including in the agricultural sector, production amounted to 261.6 thousand tons, which is 7.8% more than in 7 months of last year. Farms and individual entrepreneurs produced 1.9 thousand tons, which is 9.6% more than during the same period in 2022.
Milk production in the farms of the Penza region amounted to 212.4 thousand tons (102.2% compared to the same period in 2022), including milk production in agricultural organizations which amounted to 137.7 thousand tons (3.4% more than in 7 months of 2022).
183.8 million eggs of all types were produced during the reporting period (108.3% compared to the same period in 2022), including 103.5 million eggs were produced in agricultural organizations, which is 14.8% more than in the reporting period of 2022.
