The governor and members of the Belarusian delegation inspected the production facilities of the StankoMashStroy plant.
The company was founded in 2006 as a machine tool trading organization. After the adoption of the 2014 decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on import substitution, the plant began to manufacture its own machines. Starting with universal machines, StankoMashStroy gradually switched to numerical control machines and the creation of machining centers.
In 2022, the first machine-tool cluster in Russia was created in the Penza Oblast, uniting 13 enterprises.
"We are exploring additional opportunities for cooperation between the regions of Russia and Belarus, expanding the areas of interaction," said Dmitry Krutoy. – One of these areas is machine tool construction, an intergovernmental agreement has been signed, and the task is to create specific joint projects of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. Machine tool construction is a basic industry that is developing in the Penza Oblast under the patronage of the governor."
Dmitry Krutoy also named pharmaceuticals, innovative developments in the field of medicine, woodworking, and pulp and paper industry among the areas for expanding cooperation.
"Without deepening industrial cooperation in modern conditions, where we have to respond to geopolitical challenges, it will be very difficult to work apart. Moving forward is only through cooperation, and through closer interaction of our production facilities. The task has been set, we will work on it," Oleg Melnichenko stated.
"Cooperation is extremely important for the future," Yuri Shuleyko, Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, expressed his assessment. "Our working group should develop practical solutions to production issues."
