In Beijing, Oleg Melnichenko and Ivan Zhelokhovtsev discussed the prospects for the development of industrial, cultural and scientific cooperation of the Penza Oblast with Chinese regions.
The Governor informed about the key areas of cooperation between the Penza Oblast and the People's Republic of China, especially noting the Volga-Yangtze international project.
Volga-Yangtze is a unique format of trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the regions of the Volga Federal District and the Chinese provinces located in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River - Hubei, Jiangxi, Hunan, Anhui, Sichuan, – said Oleg Melnichenko. - It has been implemented since 2013 as part of the instruction of the President of Russia to further strengthen and diversify comprehensive ties between Russia and China. We started this topic during my work as Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Volga Federal District. I am very glad that it has been continued, and that the cooperation is developing."
Advisor-Envoy of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China Ivan Zhelokhovtsev highly assessed the socio-economic development of the Penza Oblast.
Industrial development was the key topic for discussion.
"The flagship of our machine-tool cluster is the StankoMashStroy plant. It produces both simple machines and machining centers," the head of the region stressed. - We will build new areas of cooperation."
It is planned that this week in Nanchang, Jiangxi province of China, the IV meeting of the Council for Interregional Cooperation in the Volga-Yangtze format will be held.
