The head of the Penza Oblast held a business meeting with the Vice-Governor of Shaanxi Province of China.
Shaanxi Province is located in the geographical center of the People's Republic of China. Its total area is 205,600 square kilometers, and the permanent population is 39.53 million people.
"Our province has a magnificent natural landscape, rich natural resources, convenient transport links – 17 national highways, high-speed railways, and an internal port and an international airport," Dou Jingli informed. – Our region has scientific and educational potential. There are more than 110 higher educational institutions, about 1,000 research institutions, several dozen national laboratories. We attach great importance to cooperation with the Russian Federation, wishing to be good neighbors, true friends and reliable business partners."
Oleg Melnichenko expressed confidence that cooperation between the province of Shaanxi and the Penza Oblast will bring significant results. He stressed that earlier our region had concluded agreements with five provinces of China. The trade turnover is growing, industrial and agricultural cooperation is expanding, and cultural ties are strengthening.
"The implementation of our agreements is of particular importance in the new geopolitical conditions.  Russian-Chinese relations, including at the regional level, are vital for the formation of a multipolar world. The agreement with Shaanxi Province will be an official confirmation of our cooperation, which has been going on for several years," the governor stressed.
An agreement was signed on the implementation of international and foreign economic relations in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian spheres. The document was signed by Oleg Melnichenko and Dou Jingli.
A memorandum on the development of twinning relations between the city of Penza and the city of Xianyang of Shaanxi province was also signed.
