By the end of 2023, the industrial production index in the Penza Oblast amounted to 114.1%. This is the second place among the regions of the Volga Federal District and the tenth in Russia.
"In recent years, our region has been in the top 3 of the Volga Federal District in terms of industrial production index, and in terms of industrial growth in 2021-2023 (which amounted to 131.8%), we are the undisputed leaders of the Volga Federal District," said Almaz Khakimov, Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the region.
A significant increase in production occurred in the following economic areas: metallurgical production (141.2%), production of finished metal products (131.6%), production of machinery and equipment (130.8%), production of computers, electronic and optical products (129.6%), production of electrical equipment (120.7%), furniture production (120.2%), and the production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (115.5%).
The volume of shipped products in 2023 increased by 11.6% and amounted to 439 billion rubles.
