Kamol Davronov, First Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kazan, visited the Penza Oblast.
The meeting was attended by Almaz Khakimov, Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Penza Oblast, Aleksei Kachan, Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Demography of the region, Eduard Katashov, Deputy Head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, Satimbai Berdiev, head of the Penza Uzbek national cultural autonomy, and representatives of higher educational institutions.  
Almaz Khakimov noted that Uzbekistan has been a significant foreign trade partner for the Penza Oblast for many years. The volume of exports of the Penza Oblast to Uzbekistan ranked fifth in the total volume of exports of the region. Mechanical devices and equipment, ferrous metal products, electric machines, furniture, and confectionery are supplied to Uzbekistan.
"Cooperation in the field of education and culture contributes to the expansion of our ties," stated the Penza Minister of Economic Development and Industry. Presentations of the cultural and tourist potential of Penza in the Republic of Uzbekistan are being held by the executive authorities and public organizations. About 70 students from Uzbekistan study at Penza universities."  
The regional Uzbek Community and the Local Uzbek National and Cultural Autonomy of Penza are actively cooperating with the government of the Penza Oblast. It is especially important for the adaptation of Uzbek guests. Most of the citizens of Uzbekistan work in the fields of industry, construction, trade, and agriculture.  
Almaz Khakimov stressed that the Penza Oblast is aimed at further expanding cooperation with the regions of Uzbekistan. Official delegations are scheduled to visit the Penza Oblast in 2024 (the Andijan region in May, in the Tashkent region in August).
Kamol Davronov noted that he was confident that there were many opportunities to expand cooperation.
"I would like to note that there are high prospects for cooperation between the Penza Oblast and the regions of Uzbekistan in the field of education, healthcare and tourism. There are quite a lot of educational institutions in Penza that have proven themselves well. We will work to ensure that as much information as possible reaches our students," he said.  
It is planned that in April 2024, the delegation of the Penza Oblast will take part in the business program of the 4th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan, which will be held in Tashkent.
