Oleg Melnichenko and Sergey Mikhailov held a business meeting at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

The Government of the Penza Region and Cherkizovo Group signed an agreement on mutual cooperation, which provides for the implementation of projects to improve environmental and biological safety.

In the next two years, investments will amount to 2.3 billion rubles. New projects will be implemented in Bekovsky, Bessonovsky and Kamensky districts. It is also planned to modernize the equipment of the Cherkizovsky Meat Processing Plant branch and the Vasilyevskaya poultry farm.

Oleg Melnichenko noted that Cherkizovo Group is one of the drivers of the development of the agro-industrial complex in the Penza Oblast. Vasilievskaya Poultry Farm occupies a leading position in the chilled poultry meat segment in the Volga and Central Federal Districts. Pig farms in Penza Oblast allow to maintain 260 thousand heads of animals at a time.

"Over the past two years, a significant amount of Cherkizovo's investments went to the Penza Oblast. We know where to go, our projects are real and clear," stated Sergey Mikhailov.

Cherkizovo Group's enterprises employ more than 4,600 residents of the Penza Oblast.

"You were and still are a socially responsible company, you care about the well-being of your employees and do a lot for the development of territories," Oleg Melnichenko addressed Sergey Mikhailov. For our part, we are ready to cooperate in the development of enterprises, including infrastructure, training and attracting personnel."

In particular, cooperation will continue on the project of housing construction for specialists of Cherkizovo enterprises. The Ministry of Agriculture and the administration of the Bekovsky district are preparing application documents for the construction of 11 individual residential buildings for the Vasilyevskaya poultry farm employees. It is planned to submit an application to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation for 2025 under the Integrated Rural Development program in June.
