Penza Governor Oleg Melnichenko met the Khokim of the Samarkand Region Erkinjon Turdimov at the airport.

Agreements on the visit were reached in May, when the delegation of the Penza Oblast took part in the first meeting of the Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan.

"The Khokimiyat of the Samarkand Region provided us with great assistance in organizing our stay and meetings in Uzbekistan," Oleg Melnichenko stressed. Cooperation with the Samarkand Region opens a new page in the history of our relations".

In early June 2024, a delegation from the Samarkand Region visited the Penza Oblast. During the visit, B2B negotiations were held at the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and visits to agricultural and industrial enterprises.

"The Penza Oblast offers interesting opportunities to our Samarkand partners," the governor stated. We are committed to long-term cooperation. I am convinced that it will be mutually beneficial and fruitful."
