The International Industrial Exhibition "Innoprom" in Yekaterinburg hosted meetings between companies in Shaanxi Province of the People's Republic of China and Russian enterprises.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Penza Oblast Almaz Khakimov made a presentation on the investment and industrial potential of the region. He shared talked about the experience of interaction with the People's Republic of China within the regional project "Penza-Shaanxi – One Way".
In November 2023, the official delegation of the region headed by Governor Oleg Melnichenko visited the Shaanxi province of China, during which an agreement on cooperation between the Penza Oblast and the province was signed, as well as a number of agreements on joint implementation of investment projects. In April of this year, the official delegation of Shaanxi Province headed by Governor Zhao Gang paid a return visit to the Penza Oblast. The business program of the delegation included visits to a number of industrial enterprises in the region and negotiations on the implementation of agreements reached during the November visit of the Penza delegation.
"Both of these events included large-scale B2B negotiations between business representatives from both sides. Also, three business missions of Shaanxi Province have visited our region since the beginning of this year to establish business ties and find partners, " Almaz Khakimov said.
"To a large extent, the intensive development of interregional relations in the field of trade, joint investment projects and industrial cooperation is facilitated by the work of our representative office in Shaanxi Province," said Almaz Khakimov.
The Penza representative office in Shaanxi Province provides various types of services to entrepreneurs free of charge. These include marketing services, selection of partners, search for investors, and organization of export-import transactions.
"The results of our representative office's work are clear. In six months, we exported much more products to China than a year earlier. In addition, with the participation of Chinese capital, our business has initiated a number of new investment projects in the field of processing agricultural products, " Almaz Khakimov stated. "For our region, the PRC is the most important foreign economic partner and ranks 3rd in the total volume of regional exports."
The Penza-Shaanxi-One Way project is implemented within "Small and Medium-sized Businesses and Support for Individual Entrepreneurship" project and "International Cooperation and Export", initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
