Oleg Melnichenko and Aleksey Likhachev attended an interactive lesson at the Start marketing and exhibition center as part of a working visit to Zarechny.
The "Battle of Designers" was developed by young engineers of the Start production association as part of the career guidance project, which is designed to motivate young Zarechny residents to enter a technical university and work at the local enterprise.
Oleg Melnichenko and Aleksey Likhachev talked to schoolchildren trying out their skills as design engineers. The guys assembled bridges that can withstand a given load, and also tested their structures for strength.
The project "First Steps into Profession", which is implemented during the school holidays, was created as part of the Start enterprise program.  During summer children can test their skills in the workshops and divisions of the plant, and attend career guidance classes, master classes and trainings.

In June and July 2024, 100 people took part in the project, and in August 30 schoolchildren followed suit. Each group of children is assigned a mentor from the Council of Young Employees of the Start enterprise.

"We tell the children about the Rosatom Corporation, the Start production association, and popular professions," said Lyubov Zlydneva, a member of the Young Workers' Council. During the school year, we also visited the city's schools, held events for students in grades 9-11. For schoolchildren, this is a good opportunity to get acquainted with the company, understand what areas of work they are interested in and maybe decide on their future profession."

"Start is a true star of our nuclear power industry," said Aleksey Likhachev, Rosatom CEO. "Rosatom also has many other areas of work where young professionals are needed."

The Governor Oleg Melnichenko advised children to focus on exact sciences if they decide to choose an engineering profession.
