In the Penza Oblast, special attention is paid to supporting the agro-industrial complex, which is the basis of local economy. Various support tools are available to agricultural producers, including grants and subsidies.
Currently, the regional project "Acceleration of small and medium businesses" provides grants for the creation and development of farms.
Since 2019, 83 individual entrepreneurs have received grants totaling 277.8 million rubles. This year, following the results of the meeting of the Penza government competition commission, 15 projects were selected for the Agrostartup grant support of 65.4 million rubles.
Recipients can use the provided funds to develop animal husbandry, vegetable growing, and perennial plantings. At the same time, they undertake to carry out activities in rural areas for at least 5 years from the date of funding and achieve certain indicators provided for in this project.
Since 2019, 371 heads of dairy cattle, 527 heads of meat cattle, 460 sheep, and 85 horses have been purchased with state support funds.
As of January 1, 2024, Agrostartup grant recipients increased dairy cattle 5.2 times (1,924 heads), meat cattle by 1.9 times (1,003 heads), sheep by 2.8 times (1,288 heads) and horses by 2.2 times (185 heads), compared to 2019.
