The Governor took part in the meeting of the Government Commission for Regional Development in the Russian Federation, which was held by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

The main topic of discussion was the implementation of national and federal projects in the Russian regions. The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the governors who are doing really well in this regard.

"I would like to mention the regions that are consistently successful in that area. The Penza Oblast is one of them," Marat Khusnullin emphasized. Out of 22 projects, 19 are in the "green zone". Colleagues, thank you for your work!"

Thus, the Penza Oblast is among leaders in implementing the national project "Safe Quality Roads".

In 2024, within the national project, measures are being implemented at 166 sites in the region (160 of them have already been completed). The repair of 100 kilometers of road surface on regional (inter-municipal) and local roads is being completed (95 kilometers on 139 highways have been repaired). Reconstruction of two bridges has been completed.

The Penza Oblast ranks among the top five Russian regions in terms of implementing the school repair program. In 2024, the region is upgrading 11 educational institutions in seven municipalities and urban districts (three in Bashmakovsky district, one in Shemysheysky district, one in Penza, two in Serdobsky district, two in Gorodishchensky district, one in Spassky district, one in Zemetchinsky district).

Marat Khusnullin drew the attention to the preparation for the new school year.

"There are just over two weeks left until September, and major repairs and construction of educational facilities are being completed and have already been finished in many regions. Another important point is to ensure the safety of children on the roads. I ask you to implement at a high level a set of measures that will be aimed at raising the level of road safety measures and events at schools," said the Deputy Chairman of the Russian government.

The Penza Oblast is also among the leading regions in terms creating a comfortable urban environment. The project "Superpark. The Living Water City" in Kamenka is 55% ready.

"The main thing is not to slow down, but to continue working systematically to improve the quality of life in the Penza Oblast," Oleg Melnichenko summed up.
