The meeting results of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security held in the Penza Oblast were announced to the media during a press approach.

"Today we have considered a very important and relevant issue – the implementation of the state defense order for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the example of Penza Oblast enterprises," said Vladimir Bulavin, Chairman of the Federation Council's Committee. – We had a thorough, constructive and very productive conversation. All enterprises that are included in the consolidated register of defense industry enterprises of the Penza Oblast implement the state defense order in a responsible and timely manner. This is undoubtedly the merit of the workers, managers and the regional leadership, who keep their finger on the pulse. I should also note the role of the Penza Governor."

Vladimir Bulavin noted that other working issues were also discussed at the meeting: mutual payments, cooperation of related companies, import substitution, and training of qualified personnel. "Constructive proposals were made, including by the CEOs, and those proposals should be implemented to improve both the legislative framework and departmental regulatory frameworks. All this will help ensure that this work is carried out not only in the Penza Oblast, but also throughout the country," Vladimir Bulavin added.

Oleg Melnichenko noted that the volume of production and shipped goods in the Penza Oblast is growing steadily. More than 30 thousand people are employed at the military-industrial enterprises of the region, which is about 46% of the total number of Penza residents employed in the manufacturing industry.

"This is a very serious indicator," the governor emphasized, " which shows that most of the region's labor resources are involved in solving issues related to the defense of our state. Of course, there are a number of issues that are typical not only for the Penza Region, but also for the country as a whole, which we discussed today."  

"I would like to thank you for choosing Penza as the venue for the field meeting of the Federation Council Committee," he added. - This is the first and very serious step towards resolution of existing issues, and towards a more dynamic development of the military-industrial complex in both the Penza Oblast and the Russian Federation."

Oleg Melnichenko also expressed gratitude to his fellow countrymen for their conscientious work for the benefit of the Fatherland.

"The Penza Oblast has always been a region that has served as the shield of our country. The defense industry has always occupied one of the leading places, and the residents of the region were proud of their contribution to strengthening the defense capability of our state," the governor summed up.
