The governor got acquainted with the operation of two new gas-fired thermal power plants of the enterprise.  
The gas piston installation consists of two container-type power plants and a block-modular transformer distribution substation.
"It's great and modern, and besides, it's a Russian-Chinese cooperation project," Oleg Melnichenko said.    
The infrastructure facilities were built as part of the investment project "Reconstruction of a milk processing and dairy production facility in Penza." It is being implemented within the agreement of intent concluded between the government of the Penza Oblast and the Penza Dairy Plant.
The total investment in the project will amount to about 2.4 billion rubles.
"We are interested in this investment project, because this is our processing, our regional production, it is very important that it develops," Oleg Melnichenko emphasized. We are fulfilling the task set by the President to increase the volume of agricultural products processing. Our goal is to process at least 70 percent of what we grow and produce in the region, then the gross regional product will increase."  
The commissioning of infrastructure facilities will ensure stable and reliable power supply to the dairy plant, taking into account the planned expansion of production capacities. It is designed to increase production by almost two times, producing baby food (cottage cheese and fermented milk products), including specialized food for babies with special needs.
