In 2024, the Penza Oblast produced over 400,000 tons of sugar, marking an all-time record in the history of the region's sugar industry.
By the end of 2024, the growth rate of industrial food production in the region is expected to reach 103%. Meat and by-products industry totaled 418,000 tons, which is a 6.9% increase compared to 2023. Semi-finished meat products reached 214,000 tons, reflecting a 2% growth for the same period. Sausage production amounted to 48,000 tons, showing a 10.9% year-on-year increase.
Milk production remained steady compared to the previous year. Butter output increased by 12.1% to 2,300 tons, cheese production surged by 32.8% to 4,900 tons, and cottage cheese output rose by 7% to 6,500 tons. Confectionery production reached 160,300 tons, marking a 4.8% increase.
