At the first government meeting of the year, Oleg Melnichenko highlighted the achievements made by the region in fostering international cooperation over the past year.
“We have worked productively with our partners in the People's Republic of China, Central Asia, and the Republic of Belarus,” said the governor. “We have special relations with Belarus, and we receive significant support from President Aleksandr Lukashenko. His assistance has been invaluable in industrial cooperation, the agribusiness sector, and in patriotic and cultural education.”
“I know he has been registered as a presidential candidate by the Central Election Commission of Belarus,” Melnichenko continued. “On behalf of the residents of Penza Oblast, I wish Aleksandr Lukashenko success in the upcoming elections. I am confident that he will receive the support of the fraternal Belarusian people.”
At the initiative of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, a working group for cooperation with Penza Oblast was established. In December of last year, the third meeting of this group took place in Brest, Belarus.
“We have agreed on joint projects in agriculture, industry, housing and utilities, as well as other areas. As a result, it was decided to hold the Penza Oblast Days in the Republic of Belarus, which will take place in April in Minsk, Brest, and Mogilev,” informed the governor. “This is a very important event for us.”
The plan for the Penza Oblast Days in Belarus has been assigned to Vice-Governor Sergey Fedotov for development.
