Final results for the housing construction sector in 2024 have been summarized.
Penza Oblast has reached the national average in terms of housing availability per capita. According to the Presidential Decree on National Development Goals of the Russian Federation for the Period Until 2030 and Beyond Until 2036, the goal is to provide 33 square meters of living space per person by 2030. As of 2024, Penza Oblast has already surpassed this target, with an average of 35.5 square meters per person.
"Penza Oblast holds the best housing availability indicators in the Volga Federal District and ranks 8th in Russia. This achievement results from the strong cooperation with developers established in the region," said Governor Oleg Melnichenko.
In 2024, a record-breaking 1.054 million square meters of housing were commissioned, which is the highest figure in the history of the region's housing sector. This includes 622,500 square meters of apartment buildings and 432,000 square meters of individual housing.
"Our priority is the quality of life for our citizens. Comfortable housing directly impacts people's well-being, family creation, and birth rates. Housing construction serves as a powerful driver for both economic and demographic growth," added Melnichenko.
Last year, 39,000 families improved their living conditions, which is 25% more than in 2023.
