According to the ranking by Agrifood Strategies and NAPI, Damate has topped the list of Russia’s largest turkey producers for the seventh consecutive year based on the results of 2024.
Domestic turkey meat production in 2024 grew by almost 4% compared to the previous year, reaching 438,000 tons in slaughter weight, further strengthening Russia’s position as the largest turkey producer in Europe and the second-largest in the world. The share of the five largest turkey meat producers in the total production volume remained at nearly 85%, with Damate remaining the undisputed leader. In 2024, the company maintained its 55% market share.
Today, Damate ranks first in Russia in turkey production, leads the list of European producers, and is fifth in the world. Over 12 months in 2024, the company produced 241,500 tons of turkey meat in slaughter weight, increasing its output by 2% compared to 2023.
The positive trend is driven by systematic implementation of investment projects in the Penza, Rostov, and Tyumen Oblasts, as well as the gradual ramp-up of production facilities.
In the Penza Oblast, in 2024, the company commissioned the first of two poultry farming blocks with 64 turkey rearing and fattening houses. The second phase, scheduled for completion in August 2025, will increase turkey production by 22,600 tons in slaughter weight per year.
“Damate has confirmed its status as Russia’s leading turkey producer for seven years in a row,” said Oleg Melnichenko. “The largest turkey meat production facility in the country operates in the Penza Oblast, and this is something to be proud of. And it’s not a coincidence or a stroke of luck but the result of serious and systematic work. The regional government will continue to support the investment projects that the company is implementing in our region, making a significant contribution to the economic development of the Penza Oblast.”
