A delegation from our region is currently visiting Mogilev, the second city in the Republic of Belarus to host the Days of the Penza Oblast.
Governor Oleg Melnichenko held a working meeting with Anatoly Isachenko, Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.
Oleg Melnichenko provided an overview of the events scheduled for the next two days, including an economic forum and visits to several enterprises (focused on furniture, components and spare parts, and natural dairy products) to discuss cooperation prospects.
The governor emphasized that the Belarusian company “Mogilevliftmash” is of particular interest to the Penza Oblast. The company plays a significant role in modernizing the housing and utilities infrastructure in Penza.
“Under our capital renovation program, 255 elevators using Mogilevliftmash products have been installed over the past four years. Currently, we are replacing 456 elevators in apartment buildings, and we are actively constructing a large volume of new housing—over 600,000 square meters annually,” said Oleg Melnichenko.
“I visited Mogilevliftmash last year. The company left a strong impression with its modern equipment and well-organized production processes, everything is thought through down to the smallest detail,” he added.
The Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee expressed support for Penza’s intention to strengthen regional cooperation and invited the Penza delegation to participate in the 16th International Economic Forum “Mill of Success,” which will be held in October in Bobruisk, Mogilev Region.
“We understand that the potential for cooperation between our regions is much broader. The pressure being exerted on us only serves to strengthen our economies and enables more effective cooperation. Enterprises recognize this and are working more closely, seeking what they need for production,” said Anatoly Isachenko.
Penza and Mogilev are sister cities. To reinforce their friendship, an art installation titled “Swallow”, an unofficial symbol of Penza, will be set up.
To further strengthen cooperation between the Penza and Mogilev Oblasts, Oleg Melnichenko and Anatoly Isachenko signed an action plan for implementing the current agreement on international and foreign economic relations.
For his significant contribution to regional cooperation, Oleg Melnichenko awarded Anatoly Isachenko the Order “For Services to the Penza Oblast.”
