The foreign trade turnover of the Penza Oblast amounted to 52.9 billion rubles in 2024. These figures were announced at the latest meeting of the Penza regional government.
"Export activities have completely been restructured. Some trade relations had to be rebuilt, and trade chains had to be established. Much of this was facilitated by international outreach events. As you know, the delegation, headed by the governor, is currently in the Republic of Belarus, where the Penza Oblast's Days are taking place. This work is yielding tangible economic benefits," said Nikolai Simonov, Chairman of the Penza Regional Government.
The Republic of Belarus has become one of the leaders in regional exports and imports. The trade turnover between the Penza Oblast and Belarus in 2024 reached 8.7 billion rubles, with exports accounting for 5.2 billion rubles and imports for 3.5 billion rubles.
In 2024, the company TsESIS supplied security equipment to major facilities in Belarus, including the Mozyr Oil Refinery, Grodno Energo, and the Minsk Airport. This year, the company plans to send security equipment to the Belarusian Railways and border regions. The GRAZ plant increased the volume of its equipment supplies to Belarus in 2024. Penza's furniture company SV-Mebel increased shipments of furniture by 4% year-on-year, with the total value of shipments reaching 160 million rubles. MedInzh supplied medical products worth over 30 million rubles to Belarusian healthcare institutions. In 2025, the company plans to obtain the necessary permits for the use of stent graft equipment in Belarus.
"About 70 enterprises are participating in the Penza Oblast Days in Belarus," explained Roman Tryalin, Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Penza Oblast. "A number of agreements are scheduled to be signed with Belarusian partners, including companies like Motor Technologies, Vanyushkin's Sweets, and others. In 2025, we also plan to organize the opening of the Belarusian Trading House in the Penza Oblast. Additionally, a representative from the Penza Oblast will begin work at the Russian Trade Representation in Uzbekistan."
The geography of product supplies from Penza enterprises is gradually expanding. Among the region's regular trade partners are Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan. New directions such as the UAE, Vietnam, and Africa are also developing. A trial shipment of 27 tons of Penza turkey has been sent to the Central African Republic.
Trade relations with the People's Republic of China are strengthening. The region is interested in boosting exports. An official visit, led by Governor Oleg Melnichenko, is planned for September to Shaanxi Province (China), along with participation in the "Silk Road" exhibition in Xi'an. The business mission plan is currently being worked out.
Currently, 526 manufacturing enterprises in the Penza Oblast are engaged in export activities.
