Russia's Deputy Prime Minister visited the Penza Oblast exhibition at the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum".
Oleg Melnichenko briefed Marat Khusnullin on key indicators of the region's socio-economic development, with particular focus on industry and construction. The governor also introduced the deputy prime minister to Penza-based companies participating in the forum.
Leading regional enterprises presented their products at the exhibition stand: Damate Group, SV-Mebel, Snabtsentr Group (Bundex brand products), and Vostok Agro agricultural enterprise.
"The 'Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum' International Economic Forum continues to prove its status as an important platform for showcasing Russian regions' capabilities on the global stage," commented the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government.
During the meeting, the governor outlined plans for implementing infrastructure projects in Penza Oblast.
"We discussed and identified concrete steps for further socio-economic development of the region. I'm confident this work will provide strong momentum toward achieving our common goal: improving people's quality of life," stated Marat Khusnullin.
The deputy prime minister's support is expected to open new prospects in housing and road construction.
"In 2024, you repeatedly cited Penza Oblast as an example in implementing the 'Safe Quality Roads' and 'Housing' national projects. Your support motivated us to work more efficiently," noted Oleg Melnichenko.
"As a result, last year the Penza region commissioned 1,054,000 square meters of housing, improving living conditions for 42,000 Penza families. The 'Safe Quality Roads' project has brought nearly 90% of regional backbone roads up to standard. These are matters of citizen safety and comfort. We continue systematic work under the new national project 'Infrastructure for Life'," the governor summarized.
In 2025, Penza Oblast plans to commission 700,000 square meters of housing. Over the next five years, the region aims to bring over 2,600 km of regional and local roads up to standard, and1,200 linear meters of bridge structures into proper condition.
