The XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" has brought together representatives from over 100 countries.
"The strengthening of mutual trust has become the foundation for building relations between Russia and Muslim countries," emphasized Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin during the opening ceremony.
While historically intertwined with Tatar heritage, Penza Oblast actively maintains economic dialogue with the Muslim world.
Trade partners include UAE, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Yemen, Qatar (15+ countries total)
2024 export volume amounted to1.63 billion rubles.
Key partner is Uzbekistan (relations strengthened during Oleg Melnichenko's April 2025 visit to "Innoprom. Central Asia" exhibition)
Recently, Penza delegations took part in Food fairs in Azerbaijan (2023), Tajikistan and Kazakhstan (2024).
Future expansion plans include exporting Penza goods to Afghanistan via the Termez International Trade Center (Uzbekistan border free trade zone).
