To date, approximately 235,000 hectares have been harvested, with an average yield of 42.4 centners per hectare.
“Less than one-third of our sowing areas have been harvested so far,” noted Oleg Melnichenko. “Grain and legume crops occupy 846,000 hectares, sunflower—314,000 hectares, and sugar beet—65,000 hectares.”
The governor emphasized that ensuring food security is one of the region’s priorities.
“We are expecting the second million tons of grain,” Oleg Melnichenko summarized. “This year, we plan to harvest at least 2.7 million tons of grain and 2.2 million tons of sugar beet.”
