The "Khatlon Invest-2025" Investment Forum was held in Bokhtar, Khatlon Oblast of the Republic of Tajikistan. Among the forum's primary objectives were strengthening interregional ties and expanding export capabilities for all parties.
The forum brought together diplomats, business representatives, and officials from Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Pakistan, China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.
The Penza Oblast delegation was led by Vice-Governor Sergei Fedotov. In his address at the official opening ceremony, he expressed the Russian region's interest in further developing relations with regions of Tajikistan within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance.
"Last year, a Penza delegation headed by Governor Oleg Vladimirovich Melnichenko paid an official visit to Northern Tajikistan, participating in the Tenth International Trade Fair 'Sugd-2024' in Khujand, which revealed significant prospects for cooperation across various economic sectors. We have numerous new opportunities for trade and joint projects," noted Sergei Fedotov.
He emphasized that over the past five years, Penza Oblast's exports to regions of Tajikistan have grown by 30%, with Tajikistan's share in the region's total exports nearly doubling. Penza enterprises supply industrial equipment and apparatus, food products, and wood items. Furthermore, the region produces and is ready to supply partners with industrial machinery and equipment, high-precision instruments, biomedical products, furniture, paper substrate for furniture manufacturing, and security engineering systems.
The comprehensive development of relations between Penza Oblast and regions of Tajikistan was also discussed during the bilateral meeting between the Vice-Governor and the Chairman of Khatlon Oblast.
"We anticipate active cooperation with Khatlon Oblast not only in trade and economics but also in social and humanitarian spheres," emphasized the head of the Penza delegation.
Special attention was given to cooperation in education and culture. Sergei Fedotov invited Davlatali Said to visit Penza Oblast and personally explore the region's potential in industry, culture, and tourism.
Russian Trade Representative in Tajikistan Alexander Rybas, who also participated in the forum, expressed readiness to support the development of trade and economic relations between Penza Oblast and regions of Tajikistan.
