A bilateral meeting took place between Vice-Governor of Penza Oblast Sergei Fedotov and Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing Tatiana Urzhumtseva.
A key area of cooperation involves joint educational programs and international student exchange. Over 300 citizens of China study at universities in Penza Oblast, with 277 enrolled at the Pedagogical Institute of Penza State University, including 180 students in a joint undergraduate program specializing in "Music."
The Vice-Governor emphasized that Penza Oblast is also developing international engagement in the sphere of military-patriotic education. "We would be delighted to welcome teams from regions of the People's Republic of China to our military-patriotic training camps. Invitation letters signed by Governor Oleg Vladimirovich Melnichenko have been sent to the governors of two provinces: Heilongjiang and Shaanxi. We ask for your support of our initiative," proposed Sergei Fedotov.
The parties also discussed the possibility of featuring performances by leading Penza artistic groups and artists within joint Russian-Chinese cultural events and projects. "I am convinced that support from the 'Russian House' for Penza Oblast's initiatives will contribute to the goals of comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries," concluded the Vice-Governor.
