A meeting between the delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan and Penza entrepreneurs took place at the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Chairman of the Government of Penza Oblast Nikolai Simonov emphasized the significant potential for interaction between the regions.
He called on representatives of the Penza business community to establish direct contacts with the Tajik side, bypassing intermediaries, and to actively develop bilateral cooperation by visiting Tajikistan as part of a business mission scheduled for March.
Davlatali Said, Chairman of Khatlon Region, informed meeting participants about the economic potential of his region. He noted that Khatlon Region, where about 40% of Tajikistan's population resides (approximately four million people), is the country's leader in agricultural production.
He paid special attention to the raw material base. Khatlon Region produces about three million tons of vegetables and fruits annually, but the processing rate does not exceed 5%.
"We are interested in implementing joint projects for processing raw materials, including wool and leather," noted Davlatali Said.
Currently, about 35 Penza enterprises and organizations supply their products to the Republic of Tajikistan – meat, dairy, and agricultural products, oils and fats, machinery, equipment and apparatus, household appliances, timber, and furniture.
During the working visit, representatives of the Tajik delegation toured the production facilities of Penza's leading furniture enterprise, "SV-Mebel."
The company has been Russia's leader in the production of cabinet furniture by physical volume for three years. Today, the factory has seven production and warehouse complexes and nine regional warehouses across the Russian Federation.
The guests thoroughly familiarized themselves with the production process and the scale of the company's operations, assessing opportunities for cooperation.
