Ivan Belozertsev and Mikhail Syrovatsky discussed opportunities for cooperation with agricultural enterprises in the Penza region.
Kazan Oil Extraction Plant is one of the leading enterprises in Russia in the field of processing oilseeds. The plant is included in the NEFIS Group of Companies, whose brands are known not only in Russia, but also abroad.
The governor emphasised that the Penza region leads the Volga Federal District in several agricultural indicators.
“For two consecutive years we were the best in terms of grain yields. However profitability is crucially important in agriculture, so we think of changing the structure of planted areas in view of market demands, for specific projects,” Ivan Belozertsev stated.
“We have good prospects for the development,” he added. “We stay ahead in land release in the country. This work is on-going”.
“We need a base where we could purchase sunflower seeds. Penza is a very suitable option,” Kazan plant Director-General noted. “We have experience of working in other Russian regions. The system has been set up, i.e. we have selected a team of specialists who not only explain the technology of cultivating sunflower, but also provide equipment, seeds and crop protection agents, as small farms often do not have good equipment”.
In addition, Mikhail Syrovatsky expressed the interest of the company to buy berries for jam and jelly production.
“We are ready for joint projects, we are seeking to cooperate with the region,” he reported.
“Our farmers focus on high performance, they are fond of and capable of working the land in the Penza region,” the governor summarised.
