Notably that the All-Russian Population Census started last Friday. Citizens can choose one of three ways to participate in it. One of the most convenient and secure ones is via the portal of government services. Moreover, you can wait for the census taker at home or walk to the nearest stationary census site.
Oleg Melnichenko filled in the questionnaires via the portal of government services and appealed to Penza residents to also take part in this important event.
"The All-Russian Population Census is taking place from October 15 to November 14. Due to the COVID-19 high incidence, it is better to take the census online via the portal of government services," the head of the region specified.
"It is important to take part in the census, because it helps to plan demographic and socio-economic development programmes. The census will allow us to see the well-being of the Penza Oblast residents, their having living quarters and the types of income they receive. In general, the census helps public authorities to orient themselves in building the right socio-economic policy in our country. Therefore, I urge everyone to participate in the population census and preferably online," Oleg Melnichenko stressed.
In total, permanent Russian residents will be asked 33 questions. 23 of them relate to socio-demographic characteristics: gender, age, citizenship, place of birth, nationality, language proficiency, education, number of children, source of livelihood.
Another 10 questions are about housing conditions – it will be necessary to name the type of living space you live in, the year the house was built, the total area of the apartment or house, the number of rooms and types of landscaping.
Temporary residents will answer 7 simple questions: gender, age, country of permanent residence, purpose of arrival in Russia and duration of stay.
There are more than two thousand census takers working in the Penza Oblast. They are dressed in a reflective vest, scarf and have a certificate with the census logo. They take information about the region's residents down on tablets.
The population census is conducted confidentially. There is no need to submit documents, so if a census taker asks to show them or starts asking about the income level — be wary. In addition, the census is not conducted by phone.
