The solemn ceremony of awarding of schoolchildren - winners and prizewinners of all-Russian competitions and teachers, who achieved significant success in education and upbringing, by the head of the region, was held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

Among the winners are winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiads - pupils of general educational institutions, winners of the Sixteenth Youth Delphic Games of Russia. And also their mentors - teachers and heads of schools, teachers of higher educational institutions.

In the current year, 10 students of educational organizations of the Penza region won prizes at the All-Russian Olympiads of schoolchildren in general subjects.

Addressing the participants of award ceremony, the head of the regional executive authority noted the victory in intellectual and creative competitions as a great event in the life of each student.

"You have done a good job this year, your achievements in all kinds of activities are important for the region, your victories are the future of the Penza region and its progress today. Behind this is the great and patient work of each of you, your parents and teachers. And I thank you all for your success! "- said Ivan Belozertsev.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin pays special attention to supporting our youth and especially gifted young people. In the Penza region we create conditions for you to receive a decent education, improve your abilities. Talented young people will develop the economy of the region, " - he said.

The governor stressed that all the acquired knowledge and skills will be useful for young talents in their future lives, drew attention to the fact that in modern conditions production companies and enterprises, research institutes require good specialists who could give a new impetus to the economic development of the region.

"Therefore, we attach great importance to the professional retraining of our teachers in the Penza region, we organize additional courses for the improvement of the qualifications of school teachers. And the level of passing the Unified State Exam by school leavers this year demonstrates the correctness of the chosen direction of work, " -said the head of the subject of the Federation.

"In 2018, we envisaged financial means to increase the salary of budget employees, including teachers. We will continue to put the rural schools in order. And also the practice of professional training of foreign language teachers in foreign countries, "- he said.

Ivan Belozertsev instructed to work out the criteria for awarding instructors-teachers, whose students from year to year occupy prizes at intellectual all-Russian competitions, so that such teachers should be specially noted, in accordance with the high results of their work.

Also, during communication with the winners of the Sixteenth Youth Delphic Games of Russia, the head of the Penza region aimed the present officials to create conditions for increasing the number of performances of creative children's groups at the regional level and providing all-round support with participation in all-Russian competitions.
