On 30 May 2018, the head of the Penza region and the acting governor and chairman of the Government of the Oryol region discussed cooperation between the two entities of the Russian Federation.
Members of Oryol delegation, headed by Andrey Klychkov, are in Penza on the official visit. The delegation also includes Leonid Muzalevsky, Chairman of the Oryol Regional Council of People’s Deputies, deputy governors and deputy chairmen of the Government of the Oryol region, heads of departments, committees and offices.
During the business meeting, Ivan Belozertsev informed that representatives of the Oryol region took the opportunity to visit Lermontov State Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany”. Moreover, he noted the desirability of operating guided tours for Penza schoolchildren in the Oryol region that is associated with such prominent Russian literary artists as Ivan Turgenev, Nikolay Leskov, Leonid Andreyev, and Afanasy Fet.
“Our agenda is saturated. We are determined to acquaint our colleagues with the work of medical, cultural, sports institutions in the Penza region. We plan to show them housing and utility facilities in order to propose practical solutions to challenges connected with the improvement and integrated development of territories,” the governor reported.
The acting governor and chairman of the Government of the Orel region thanked Ivan Belozertsev for the invitation and expressed confidence in the effectiveness and usefulness of business contacts between the two regions.
“The Penza region achieved impressive results in many areas, i.e. in industry, IT, and housing construction. You have considerable potential in the cultural sphere, as Mikhail Lermontov spent his childhood and adolescence in the region. In addition, our fellow townsman Leskov also took up the pen here. We greatly appreciate cultural relations with the Penza region,” Andrey Klychkov explained and emphasised that friendship between the two regions will switch to business cooperation in all sectors.
