The meeting of representatives of veterans' communities and active youth from the regions of the Volga Federal District is to be held from 27 to 29 February 2020 at the Penza State University.
The project is aimed at preserving the historical and labour heritage of the Russian Federation, exchanging experience and strengthening ties between generations, developing partnerships between veterans and youth organizations, and providing volunteer assistance to veterans in need.
The project is being implemented with the support of the presidential grants Fund.
About 200 people from among the members of veterans' and youth public associations of the Volga Federal District and experts of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation are to gather in Penza.
Hero of the Russian Federation, first Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation and project coordinator Vyacheslav Bocharov, and Hero of the Russian Federation Aleksey Romanov will attend the forum.
"Our sacred, moral and civic duty is to preserve the unbreakable link between generations and to transmit historical memory. The "Relay Race of Generations" forum has a special value in the year of the 75th anniversary of the great Victory, because the generation of our veterans and homefront workers is the best example for those who are only learning to live today" Ivan Belozertsev said.
