The conference of the regional branch of the all-Russian public-state organisation "Women's Union of Russia" was held in the great hall of the Penza Oblast Legislative Assembly on March 3, 2020.
It was attended by members of the organisation's management and representatives of local branches that work in the interests of family, parenthood and childhood in the Penza Oblast municipalities. Representatives of the Penza Oblast executive and legislative authorities were also invited to the event.
Pavel Maslov, head of the Penza Oblast Department of the Government Internal Policy, noted the effective work of the organisation and expressed hope that this voluntary association will continue to promote the role of women in the region.
"In his Address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined a wide range of issues, focusing on strengthening demographic and social policies, setting goals for developing measures to support motherhood and childhood, and improving the quality of life. I am sure that the regional branch of the "Women's Union of Russia" will conduct explanatory work with families to implement the provisions of the Address," Pavel Maslov said.
Olga Chistyakova, head of the "Women's Union of Russia" regional branch, made a keynote speech telling the audience about socially significant regional projects to preserve and strengthen the foundations of family, parenthood and childhood implemented by the union and its local branches in 2019.
"Members of the Penza regional branch took part in the implementation of federal and regional programmes to support the family, motherhood, childhood and people-saving. The regional branch has implemented a number of ideas aimed at supporting the family and consolidating civil society," Olga Chistyakova said.
Activists of Kamensky, Belinsky, Bessonovsky, Maloserdobinsky, Kameshkirsky and other districts shared their experience. The main directions for the national projects implementation were assigned to the members of the organisation's management according to the proposals, and the action plan for the current year was approved.
In addition, as part of the main agenda of the meeting, activists of the Penza regional branch unanimously supported the idea to assign the city of Penza the Russian Federation honorary title "City of Labour Valour".
Note: The Penza regional branch of the "Women's Union of Russia" was registered on August 21, 2017. Today the public organisation brings together more than 400 women on the Penza Oblast territory. Those are representatives of all spheres of activity: education, health, social protection, culture, entrepreneurship, and public organisations.
