April 11 is the international day of Nazi concentration camps prisoners’ liberation. It was set in memory of the Buchenwald concentration camp prisoners' international uprising.
In Penza volunteers of the Russian Geographical Society prepared greetings and gifts for those who as children got to German prisons. For two days, they delivered charity kits to former prisoners of concentration camps, participants of the project "Children of War", who are self-isolated now due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. That is why they were also given medical masks and gloves provided by the regional branch of the Russian Peace Foundation.
Note: Those who fell into the occupation and concentration camps in their childhood are now taken care of by public organisations. On the initiative of the Penza regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society the social monitoring centre was created, which also includes the Penza regional branch of the Russian Peace Foundation, the Penza Regional Fund for Scientific and Technical Development, and the Green Wave NGO.
