Ivan Belozertsev held a joint meeting of the regional Anti-terrorist Commission and the Penza Oblast operational headquarters via videoconference on Friday, April 24, 2020.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, the head of the regional executive power noted that, despite the special conditions caused by the spread of the coronavirus infection, work to ensure anti-terrorist protection of citizens and objects during the May holidays should be carried out.
"The high-alert mode does not let us hold mass events in May. Unfortunately, the planned celebrations dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War are being postponed to a later date," the Governor informed.
"However, ensuring anti-terrorist security and public order during the May holidays is still one of the most urgent tasks for us. Let's not forget about the danger of terrorist attacks, provocations, street riots, and all kinds of destructive actions. Such things may happen," he said.
The meeting also touched the issue of ensuring anti-terrorist protection of children's summer recreation areas.
"Everything is complicated now and the situation with children's summer wellness camps is not clear yet. But still we must prepare for it," Ivan Belozertsev said.
"The coronavirus infection has changed the organisation of summer holidays, but I hope that children's camps will be opened later. We must be prepared for this. Work to ensure security on those camps' territories should be carried out right now," he stressed.
