During a working trip to the Belinsky district on Monday, July 6, 2020 Ivan Belozertsev visited the spouses, who celebrated their wedding anniversary.
Aleksandr Sedov served 31 years in the armed forces of the Russian Federation, Serafima Sedova worked as an electrical inspector. The couple lived in a lawful matrimony for 50 years, raising two children.
Now the Sedovs are retired, but continue to lead an active lifestyle, working on their small family garden.
"It is your Golden wedding. Usually on the eve of the Family, Love and Fidelity Day, which is celebrated in our country on July 8, the Penza Oblast holds solemn events, where couples who have lived in love and harmony for many years are invited," the Governor said. "This year, due to the threat of spreading coronavirus infection, there will be no celebrations, but I decided to come and congratulate you on your Golden wedding".
"You have lived together for 50 years, raised children and grandchildren, you are a role model for our youth, I bow down before you," Ivan Belozertsev added.
